Stepping
on shore feels as though you stepped back in time to a place somewhere
in the 1940's. Though virtually all of the land is privately owned, visitors
are always welcome provided they treat the island with respect. There
are few cars, golf carts and motor scooters are the prefered means of
transportation.

Only about
a third of the island is settled, the rest is rolling hills of bayberry
and grasses with deer paths for hiking and sparkling water.
